Dresses
The uniforms for Concert Choir (Beginning), Women’s Chorale (Intermediate) and Capital Pride (Honors) choral students are long black dresses. Concert Choir and Women’s Chorale students will be measured for new dresses during their chorus classes in September. Students, please bring their black pump shoes to school on measuring day. Please see Footwear section below for more details. The cost of a new dress is $65. (There is a $5 charge for extra length for students who are over 5’8” tall.) The new dress orders arrive at school on or near the end of October or beginning of November in time for the winter performance season. No dresses will leave school without payment. Dresses are machine washable and hang to dry. Alterations necessary beyond the initial fitting are the responsibility of the dress owner. Footwear:
Shoes are black leather pumps. This style has been chosen for comfort and safety while walking on the risers. Shoes should be worn with nude color stockings. Pumps must be: • Closed toe • No straps or other adornments • No shiny patent leather • Heels no higher than 2” • Purchased at your local store or online prior to the dress measuring. • Sears has three styles that fit the shoe requirements. You can find them at sears.com and type the following style names in the search box: • I Love Comfort Women's Low-heel pump---Layla. (Also available in wide widths) • I Love Comfort Women's Comfort pump---Legacy • Basic Editions Women's dress shoe---Renee • If you shop elsewhere remember to look for black, low-heel, (not to exceed 2") closed-toed pumps without any other pattern or embellishment. Tuxedos
The tuxedo uniform consist of black tuxedo pant, white tuxedo shirt, black bow tie, cuff links and shirt studs. Members of Capital Pride (Honors) also wear a black tuxedo jacket. If you purchased a uniform in a previous year, please check to see that all pieces fit properly and that you have all pieces of the uniform. Please see Price List below for more details. Savvi Formalware will make alterations to the pant and jacket sleeve lengths free of charge for life. They also offer a full line of replacement items. Please have your adjustments made and purchase any missing pieces in time for the first chorus event. Savvi Formalware will be at school to measure students in Concert Choir (Beginning) and Capital Pride (Honors) chorus during the class period in September and it is essential to be in class on that date or be fitted at the store. A $20 deposit is required at the time of measuring. Please make your check payable to Savvi Formalwear. Pick up dates will be announced in class, by email and on the chorus website. Men’s Uniforms will be ready for pick up within 3 weeks of measuring, and must be picked up at Savvi and the remaining balance will be due at that time. Savvi Formalware is located in the Pleasant Valley Promenade Shopping Center at 6220 Glenwood Ave. Store hours are Monday- Friday 10-7; Saturday 10-5.
